Matt Hancock says vaccination programme is going ‘very well’
Matt Hancock issued a furious swipe at Emmanuel Macron this morning, as he compared the UK’s vaccine rollout to France. The Health Secretary told Sky News that the country has “vaccinated more people in the last three days than France has in the entire length of this disease”. He also declared that 75 percent of all over 80s have been vaccinated as of this morning.

The Health Secretary also said that three-quarters of all care home residents have received vaccinations.
Mr Hancock made the comparison to France’s beleaguered rollout as he praised Britain’s vaccine strategy.
He told Sky’s Stephen Dixon that, where there is only a limited supply of vaccines, you want to get “as many people protected as quickly as possible”.
In France, Emmanuel Macron has faced widespread criticism of his government and its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Macron’s government was widely lambasted for its slow rollout of the vaccine.
