Archie and Lilibet to get gifts from William despite ‘family rift, says expert

The Duke of Duchess of Sussex might not be spending Christmas with the Royal Family in Norfolk, but their children will still be getting presents from their uncle and aunt despite the reported royal rift between William and Harry.

Although Harry and wife Meghan are expected to spend the festive season in California, where they now live, they won’t be forgotten by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

That’s according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, who has been speaking exclusively to OK! about how William and Kate will spend their Christmas.

When asked if Archie, two, and Lilibet, six months, will be receiving presents from the Cambridges, Katie said: "Yes, of course. They give gifts to the whole family, and that includes all of their nieces and nephews.”

As well as Lilibet, William and Kate have another new arrival to buy for this year after Kate's sister Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews welcomed daughter Grace into the world in March.

It was reported last month that Harry and Meghan wouldn’t be heading to Sandringham for the Christmas break.

An insider told Page Six: “There’s a lot that goes into the logistics and the planning of the family Christmas, so of course staff know that Harry and Meghan are not coming.

“If they were, they would have communicated it to their family by now. But this is Her Majesty’s first Christmas without her husband, so one would have hoped they would want to be with her.”

It’s thought the pair have decided to stay put in the United States in order to avoid the media frenzy that would surround any visit back to the UK.

The last time Harry and Meghan were at Sandringham for Christmas was in 2018, just over a year before they announced they were stepping down from their senior roles within the Royal Family.

Harry has been back to the UK twice this year, once to attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral and also to help unveil the statue of his mum, Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace with brother William.
