Creepy cottage left untouched for years after owner vanished off face of Earth

A creepy abandoned remote cottage has been found – decades after the people that once lived there "vanished off the face of the earth".

The inside of the property has been left untouched, and now wallpaper hangs off the walls, which are covered in filth and a thick layer of dust.

A pair of reading glasses have been left on the kitchen table among 1950s sweet tins, photographs, furniture and ornaments which have all now been covered in cobwebs.

It is as if the people who had been living there upped and left the property, dubbed 'Grandma's House', in Wrexham, Wales, and never returned.

Who lived there, and why they left all of their belongings remains a mystery to this day, NorthWalesLive reports.

Photographs of a smartly dressed couple remain as the only clue of the property's previous tenants.

A clock on the mantlepiece has long since lost its power and its arms forever remain stuck at 4.20.

The creepy cottage has caught the attention of urban explorers, who say it is in a "very remote location".

One who did not want to be named told North Wales Live : “The house lies in a very remote location within Wrexham, surrounded by clouded mountain tops.

“As you enter the house you instantly pick up the eerie feeling within the walls, it’s like time has frozen and the occupiers that once lived in the house have just vanished off the face of the earth.

“Photos dotted around the house show an old couple who may have been the last people to live there but nothing has moved, photos are in colour and in black and white.

“I was able to access all of the rooms in the house which consists of the kitchen, dining room, front room, pantry and bathroom, as well as the bedrooms.

They added: “Accessing the house is slightly difficult and a little messy as there is no accessible road and the land is boggy and lightly flooded from the rainwater coming off the mountain tops, but once your inside the house seems structurally safe."

“The house itself has obviously been abandoned for many years as the decay is extensive and rotted in places.

“Everything else in this home seems old and as if it’s been left for ages yet the microwave seems rather new.

“Whoever lived here collected model cars with several still on display in the kitchen area and looked quite old.

“One baffling thing was that there was no toilet in the house and there wasn’t one in the bathroom."
