A man and his girlfriend have been found guilty of torturing and killing his six-year-old son in a horror child cruelty case.

Thomas Hughes, 29, and Emma Tustin, 32, were both accused of killing Arthur after he was fatally injured at her home in Coventry last year June.

The little boy tragically died after suffering brain damage from a 'shaking injury', which was later confirmed in a post-mortem examination that he died from a head injury.

Both defendants denied murder but Tustin was found guilty of murder while Hughes was convicted of manslaughtrer, reports Birmingham Live.

Tustin pleaded guilty to child cruelty counts 2 and 3. She is found guilty of child cruelty counts 4 and 5.

Hughes is found guilty of child cruelty standing in isolation and assaults.

He is found not guilty of the deprivation of food and drink and salt poisoning.

Tustin admitted two counts of child cruelty but had denied further charges of the same offence. Hughes also denied child cruelty offences.
