Several people were wounded in the incident, which police believe to be a drive-by shooting, at an apartment building in Montreal, Canada.

The victims were rushed to hospital and their condition is still not known, but cops have confirmed at least five people have been injured.

There have been no arrests at the moment after several shots were fired into the front of an apartment building.

At least two ambulances and multiple police vehicles are parked at the scene and a large cordon has been put in place.

Photos of the scene show the front door of the apartment block severely damaged with the glass shattered.

After hearing the gunshots, several people frantically dialled 911 for help nearby.

People are being urged to avoid the area as police conduct an investigation.
