Heartbreaking tributes have poured in for a "lovely young" mum who was tragically killed after being struck by a car near the M9 in Scotland.
Courtney McNiven, 24, was left fighting for her life after she was hit on Bo’ness Road, Polmont at around 2 am this morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and took the mum to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Her friends and family have since paid tribute on social media after they woke to the unexpected news in the early hours of this morning, the Daily Record reports.
One person wrote: "Cannot believe the news I woke up to. Rest in peace Courtney, wee pal I hope you’re at peace now."
Another paid tribute and said: "So sad to hear about the passing of Courtney McNiven rip beautiful."
A third person wrote: "Sleep tight Courtney McNiven canny make sense of it all."
One other said: "So sad to hear about the passing of Courtney McNiven rip beautiful."
A fourth wrote: "Heartbreaking, you fought a hard battle Courtney but now you can rest in peace."

"Officers were called around 2am on Saturday, 9 October, 2021, to a report of a concern for person on the Bo’ness Road, Polmont," a Police Scotland spokesperson said.
"A 24-year-old woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where she later died.
"The M9 was initially closed between junction 4 and 5, but re-opened around 3.50am."
