For the first time in President Biden’s eight months in office a majority of Americans disapprove of his job performance. According to the latest Gallup statistics, the US President’s approval rating has dipped to a dismal 43 percent – its lowest level to date. Only six percent of Republicans rated Biden favourably between September 1 and September 17.
His approval amongst Democrats was predictably much stronger standing at 90 percent, however, it is the lowest he has scored within his key demographic.
Mr Biden received harsh criticism from across the political spectrum over his chaotic efforts to evacuate Americans and vulnerable people from Afghanistan.
This criticism reached a fever pitch after terrorism organisation ISIS-K carried out an attack outside Kabul’s airport, killing 13 US service members and more than 170 Afghan civilians.
The President has also received significant backlash from a litany of Covid mandates including his announcement that all US employers with 100 or more workers must require their workers to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or conduct to weekly testing.

Biden braces for showdown with Macron after massive submarine fallout
US president Joe Biden is set to meet with French president Emmanuel Macron to address France’s anger over the US’ nuclear deal with Australia and the UK.

However, the new deal has resulted in Australia scrapping their $90billion (£48billion) contract with France.
Upon hearing the news, furious Macron withdrew France’s ambassadors from the US and Australia.
In a joint statement following a phone call today, Biden and Macron said they would meet in October to hash out their differences.
Kamala Harris’ approval rating higher than that of Joe Biden
Vice President Kamala Harris’s approval ratings are currently better than Joe Biden’s ratings, according to the latest statistics.
Harris is ahead by six points, with 49 percent of people asked approving and 49 percent disapproving.
Her rating is identical to Biden’s job approval rating as vice president in July 2009, six months into his term in the Obama administration.
At that time, Biden had a 49 percent approval rating, but had a lower disapproval rating (39 percent) than Harris currently has.
