Kate Middleton’s ex-boyfriends from ‘first love’ to millionaire hunk

She may have bagged herself a prince, but there were a few other males admirers who caught Kate Middleton's eye before Prince William finally put a rock on her finger.

Although, according to a pal, Kate "was always very shy around boys" despite attracting male attention.

"Loads of boys found her attractive but when they approached her she would always get very embarrassed and bashful," they previously told the Mail on Sunday.

Fast forward a decade and she's now the Duchess of Cambridge and has three children – George, Charlotte and Louis – with Prince William.

Today, April 29, the couple celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. They got married in a spectacular ceremony at Westminster Abbey that was watched by billions.

Here, Daily Star looks at the men who almost stole Kate's heart…

Harry Blakelock

Harry Blakelock was reportedly Kate's first love but left her "heartbroken" after he "blew hot and cold", a school friend previously claimed.

Kate is said to have met Harry while the pair were studying at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, with the now Duchess of Cambridge “hung up” on the hockey captain when she headed to Florence for a gap year in 2001.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the friend claimed: “She spoke about him all the time and he seemed to have messed her around quite a bit.

“He seemed to have blown hot and cold with her when they were at school and she was always talking about how she could get him back.

“He was also in Florence at the same time but from what I can remember, nothing happened.”

Willem Marx

Kate is said to have enjoyed another romance while studying at Marlborough College, this time with Willem Marx.

They have remained good pals over the years and were pictured leaving a South Kensington nightclub together in 2007.

Willem was also invited to Kate and William's wedding.

He studied Classics at Oxford University before going on to complete a MA in journalism at New York University.

He now works as a news correspondent for NBC news.

In 2013, he married Italian TV presenter Johanna Botta and they have a son together.

Kate met Rupert Finch while they both studying at St Andrews University in Scotland.

'Tall, dark and handsome' Rupert was in his final year of studying law when they dated for just under a year in 2001.

Speaking about their relationship, a source previously said: "Kate actually had another boyfriend when she first got to St Andrews, Rupert Finch, who by all accounts was a nice man.

“Prince William, he kind of expressed a bit of interest but I think Kate was still playing hard to get. He wasn’t terribly sure if she was interested."

Rupert would go on to be invited to Kate and William's wedding in 2011.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were then guests at Rupert's 2013 wedding to Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, the daughter of the Marquess of Reading.

The father of three now works as a lawyer and is said to be pals with Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

On his LinkedIn, he says he is an "experienced lawyer with a demonstrated history of working in the advance materials, chemicals, automotive, battery, fuel cell, life science and medical components sectors."

Kate and William went through two break-ups during their relationship, the second time being in 2007.

It came as a huge shock as, after six years of dating, people were expecting a royal engagement.

While the separation was short-lived, Kate took advantage of being a single woman and became a firm fixture on the London nightclub scene.

She reportedly dated Henry Ropner, a tall, handsome and wealthy man whose family owns a £33.7million shipping management firm.

Henry married Natasha Sinclair in 2011 and according to Tatler lives in Thorp Perrow, an impressive Yorkshire estate, with their young family.
