A man has been tragically stabbed to death in a village stabbing as a second victim is in hospital fighting for their life.
The knifing has been branded "horrific" by detectives.
43-year-old Matthew Boorman, father-of-three, tragically lost his life after being stabbed along with another man and a woman in the incident near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, Mirror reports.
Police were called on Tuesday evening (5 Oct) after receiving multiple reports that a lone male "had a knife and had injured others".
The father-of-three was sadly declared dead at the scene despite the desperate efforts from emergency services.
A second male victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and reportedly remains in a critical but stable condition.
A woman was also taken to hospital to be treated for a leg wound.
Mr Boorman's family described him as a "loving husband and father".
In a heart-breaking statement, the family said: "Matthew was a loving husband and a father to three gorgeous young children who all love him and miss him tremendously.
"He was an uncle, a brother and a son. It broke our hearts to lose him too soon."

Police have confirmed that a man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.
Two off-duty officers bravely intervened to help restrain the suspect, police said.
No one else is being sought in connection with the "horrific" incident, Chief Inspector Roddy Gosden said in an update on Twitter.
Police said in a statement on Twitter: "This was a horrific incident in a quiet residential area, we understand those who saw what happened will be traumatised and many in the local community will be upset and worried."
"Are thoughts at this time are with the family of the man who died and those who were injured," the statement adds.
The victim's next of kin are being supported by family liaison officers.
