A 27-year-old man was shot dead during a Peaky Blinders fancy dress party on New year's Eve, police have said.
The party host was ringing in 2021 with friends when one of the guests "accidentally" shot him in the chest at a remote house in France.
Friends desperately tried to save his life but he was pronounced dead after medics arrived at the scene in Dordogne.
French officials said a group of former high school friends had gathered for the themed party, reports The Mirror.
They had dressed up as characters from the hit BBC period drama Peaky Blinders, which stars Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy.
The show, now available around the globe on Netflix, is set in Birmingham and follows the gang following the First World War.
Medics and officers were called to the home at around 9.30pm on Thursday when the man was shot by accident, local news reported.
He was fatally wounded by a gunshot from a hunting rifle, it's believed.
The man holding the gun, also 27, was one of several guests who brought guns to the party, the local public prosecutor said.

The rifle belonged to his father who is a hunter.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, France Bleu reported, and remained in custody on Friday night.
Many of the party guests knew each other from high school and were aged in their late 20s.
The incident reportedly took place inside a garage while people were smoking outside, hours before the clock struck midnight.
Police are treating the incident as an accidental shooting, local news said.
Bergerac prosecutor Odile de Fritsch told AFP: "About 20 people born between 1991 and 1993, all former high school friends, gathered Thursday in an isolated house for a fancy dress party inspired by this British television series, which features gangsters in three-piece costumes and caps.
"At around 9:30pm, a shot was fired from a weapon brought by a guest."
