Loveland police have confirmed that a man was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies for injuries suffered during an officer involved shooting on Monday night.
Loveland Police Department Assistant Chief Laurie Scott said officers responded to two separate reports of a disturbance in the 1600 block of Tennessee Street about 7 p.m. She did not provide additional details on what occurred, only that the man who was injured was armed with a knife.
Police reported the incident as an officer involved shooting but did not release information on how many shots may have been fired and by whom. Scott said additional information on the shooting will come from Fort Collins Police Services, which is taking the lead in the Critical Incident Review Team investigation that will occur in cooperation with the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Police reported, in social media posts, that there were no threats to the public and asked residents to “steer clear” of the area while law enforcement continued to investigation.
