Meghan and Harry would only change their plans if a royal died, expert claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not plan their engagements around other Royal family members' health and would only change plans if someone died, a royal expert has explosively claimed.

The claims come as the Duchess of Sussex makes an appearance on the hit American talk show Ellen, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.

Royal fans have spoken out against the Duchess for her "poorly timed" appearance during a time when many are worried for the Queen's health.

Many disgruntled fans have referred back to Harry and Meghan's explosive Oprah interview eight months ago, which coincided with the late Prince Philip being in hospital.

Gertrude Daly, who runs the Gert's Royal podcast, claims the couple are not "planning around the Royal's health" as they are "so far removed".

Speaking on Meghan's appearance on Ellen, Daly told the Daily Star: "I don’t think it will ease fears about the Queen’s health.

"I don’t think anyone is using the Sussexes as a barometer for the Royal’s health."

She added: "They are just so far removed. And given that they aired the Oprah interview while Prince Philip was in the hospital on an extended stay, the Sussexes are clearly not planning around the Royal‘s health.

"I think they would only change their plans if someone actually died."

The announcement that Meghan was appearing on the chat show was met with backlash online from many fans who feel it is "disrespectful" to the Queen.

One disgruntled fan wrote: “Personally I am stunned that the Duchess is once again giving a very public interview at a time when our monarch is not in the best of health.

“Whatever may be said, the last poorly timed interview was not helpful to anyone but the Sussex couple and to the interviewer. It was certainly not helpful to the late Duke of Edinburgh."

But some people have defended Meghan's decision to appear on Ellen claiming the critics are simply "jealous".

One person wrote: "How can anybody dislike her, she's so down to earth and humble."

Another said: "So many negative people that have no lives and hate her for having a beautiful one."

The Sussexes have been contacted for comment.
