Paraglider crashes into home in eastern Boulder County

A paraglider on his second glide of the day crashed into home in eastern Boulder County on Saturday morning and was taken to a hospital, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.

The 68-year-old man had just taken off and was about 10 feet off the ground, going about 20 mph, when he hit the residence before 8:45 a.m., according to a news release. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of North 119th Street, northeast of Lafayette.

The paraglider was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the release said.

The Lafayette Police Department, the Erie Police Department and the Lafayette Fire Department assisted with the response.
