Tragic final moments of girl, 7, crushed by tyre show her playing in shop

Chilling footage shows the final moments of a young girl before she was tragically killed when a 90kg truck tyre fell on top of her.

The horror accident in August 2019 claimed the life of seven-year-old Lily Dorrough when the tyre fell on her on a common walkway in the industrial complex in Roma, Queensland.

Dad Michael was left reeling when he appeared in an interview on Australian news programme A Current Affair.

CCTV inside his carpet and flooring works showroom captures the last moment Lily was alive. She was seen playing with her friends and climbing over the fixtures display.

She held onto the rail and slid down to the floor picking up her shoe.

Michael told reporter Pippa Bradshaw: "Lily loved climbing and running around, she was always full of energy.

"It's hard to believe, you think it's a bad dream, you hope it's a bad dream, you think this is not physically possible, my little girl was in the shop 10 minutes earlier."

Recalling the accident, he said he ran outside the shop and followed Lily's friend until he found her under the truck wheel, which was placed against a shed on the common walkway.

"Lily weighed approximately 18kgs, and when a wheel five times that weight falls on you, it's not going to be a good scenario," the father said.

He rushed his critically-injured daughter to the hospital but she sadly died a few hours later.

Michael believed the neighbouring tenant, Gavin Brown, was accountable for the accident and claimed his CCTV captured Mr Brown driving into the industrial complex in the days before the accident with the truck wheels in the back of his pickup truck.

Mr Brown could also allegedly be seen leaving the complex after placing them on the walkway outside his shed, just 24 hours before Lily was crushed.

Police and Workplace Health and Safety investigated the accident but cleared Gavin Brown of any wrongdoing, saying it couldn't be proven that he was running a business from the facility.

Mr Brown responded to A Current Affair, saying: "Everyone knows how I feel about it, it's not a very nice thing at all, the investigations have been done, that's all I've got to say."
